Michael's Badminton Academy
MBA was incorporated in year 2001. Its first centre consisting of 16 indoor-badminton courts at Taman Megah, Petaling Jaya was officially opened by a former Prime Minister's wife, Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah on February 2002.
Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah, who was also the patron of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) together with former Thomas Cuppers – Razif Sidek, Cheah Soon Kit and James Selvaraj were impressed with the courts and related facilities of the biggest privately owned multi-badminton courts centre in the state.
Riding on the success of our Taman Megah Centre, in the year of 2003 we have embarked on a more ambitious plan to build a much bigger and more facilities of badminton centre at Bandar Puteri Puchong.
This badminton centre at Bandar Puteri Puchong consists of 32 indoor-badminton courts with facilities to accommodate major national and international tournaments / training was fully functional on September 2004. This centre has been officially recognized as the Biggest Indoor-Badminton Centre in the country by the Malaysian Book of Records.
Managed and directed by Michael Lee, who is a badminton enthusiastic and reputable veteran player. MBA focuses on four (4) specific areas of development – namely building champions for life, social integration through sports, recognition of badminton veterans and lastly but not least, the promotion of sport tourism for the country.
